Nhan Dan- A grand art performance was held in Bac Ninh northern city to honour the art of quan ho (a kind of love duet folk singing) on February 28.

This is to mark the UNESCO’s official recognition of quan ho as an “intangible cultural heritage of humanity” and to anticipate the millennium anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan urged the local people to do make greater efforts to preserve the art of quan ho which, he said, is the pride of not only Bac Ninh people but also all Vietnamese people. 

The event also helped to popularise the image of an dynamic Bac Ninh province in economic, cultural and tourism fields to Vietnamese and international friends.
