M’nong ethnic people’s traditional festivals restored

 

The Victory Festival of M’nong ethnic people.

Nhan Dan- The Culture, Sports and Tourism Department of Dak Nong province has recently restored and organised 38 traditional cultural festival of M’nong ethnic minority group in the region.

According to the Department’s director To Dinh Tuan, this is resulted from the implementation of the five year project on restoration and promotion of festivals, gongs and musical instruments of M’ nong group.

The provincial administration has also bought 72 gong sets for 72 community cultural houses in hamlets and villages in the province. Fifty training courses on gong performance have been organised to 564 M’nong children.

Festivals have been organised regularly on occasions, particularly during the lunar New Year’s time, to restore and promote the traditional cultural value of M’nong ethnic minority people which is now in danger of being lost in oblivion.
