German
conductor Jonas Alber will perform with Vietnam Symphony
Orchestra in Hanoi to open the German Year in Vietnam.

Online- This year is chosen as the Germany Year in Vietnam
with a wide range of activities taking place throughout the
year, encompassing the fields of culture, education,
science, economics, society and politics as well as
development co-operation and sport.
The
programme, organised by the German Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, the German Embassy in Vietnam and the Goethe
Institute, is to mark the 35th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and
Germany.
All the
events in the framework of ‘Germany Year in Vietnam’ will be
divided into four themes. The themes of environment and
urbanity will touch upon on urban planning, transportation,
architecture, environmental protection and climate change.
These two themes will be reflected through seminars,
exhibitions and fairs. The theme of art will introduce a
cultural, creative and modern Germany in all fields of
cinema, music, photography, dance, fashion and design.
The ‘Germany
Year in Vietnam’ will be launched with a concert on January
23 and 24 at the Hanoi Opera House. The concert will feature
the symphony No 9 by Beethoven, one of the greatest
classical piece of the world.
Not only
classical music concerts, the German culture will be
highlighted by film festivals in big cities, photo
exhibitions and book fairs. Along with these, seminars and
exhibitions on environment such as water and forest economy,
sustainable urban development , immigrants, Germany-Vietnam
diplomatic ties and cultural conservation are also the focus
of the programme. Education co-operation between the two
countries will be on the agenda as well. Other events such
as international fashion show, youth exchange, Germany-
Vietnam chess tournament and the October Fest in Hanoi and
Ho Chi Minh City will diversify the ‘German Year in
Vietnam’.
This year
will also see the seminars discussing on German business
activities in Vietnam and the prosperity in economic
co-operation between the two countries.
All of the
events not only aim for the policy makers, but also to
arouse the interest of Vietnamese young people in Germany in
general.
