Vietnam’s well-known pianist Dang Thai Son will make a solo performance at the “Techcombank Concert” at Ho Chi Minh Opera House on January 26, on his return to HCM City for the first time in 10 years.

The concert marks the 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin’s birthday and the 30th year of Son’s career (1980-2010) and is jointly organised by Vietnam National Academy of Music, the Champion Vietnam Media Joint stock Company and Technical and Commercial Joint-stock Bank (Techcombank).

Son has become world famous since he won first prize at the 10th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw . It was also the first time that an Asian musician won such honourable prize.

“The Techcombank Concert” is to celebrate the beginning of “Chopin Year”, giving music lovers the opportunity to enjoy some of Chopin’s classic works, performed by pianist Dang Thai Son. (VNA)
