Korean paintings on display in Hanoi

Nhan Dan Online – Seventy five traditional and contemporary paintings by Korean artists are now on display at the Cultural Centre of the Republic of Korea in Hanoi.

Under the name ‘Korean Art Festival’, the exhibition is held by the RoK Cultural Centre in Hanoi and the RoK’s Magazine of Art.

The exhibition introduces folk paintings with images of flower, bird, fish, dragon, reflecting Korean people’s wishes of a prosperous life. Contemporary paintings created with mixed media, watercolour or lacquer are also displayed there.

The exhibition has the participation of many famous Korean artists, including Park Mi Yong who is head of the Kangnam Fine Arts Association, Kwon Sung Nyeo, director of Korea Folk Painting Association and many others.

According to Director of RoK Cultural Centre Keum Gi Hyung, the exhibition kicks off a programme to welcome the millennium anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi organised by the centre and the RoK’s culture and art sector.
