A photo entitled Mua Thu Hoach (Harvest Season) by photographer Tran Viet Van won fourth prize at the Worldwide Photography Gala Awards, which was themed Four Seasons.

Three American photographers swept the top three.

Van also received a Merit Award for his photo Mua Xuan Dang Toi (Here Comes the Spring).

Van’s photos will be featured in a book with other prize winning photos such as Summer in Haiti (Best Documentary Series) by James Fischetti and Little Girls and a Cherry Tree (First Prize) by Jeanine Vitale. The photos will be exhibited in the US and Europe and showcased for sale at the Wonderpick Gallery in the UK .

Van took Harvest Season during a visit to Mu Cang Chai district, in the northern province of Yen Bai last September.

Last year, he won 14 photography prizes at home and abroad. (VNA)
