Dan - More than 2.1 million students nationwide have applied
for the 2009 university and college entrance examinations
which will take place from July 4-5 (phase I), July 9-10
(phase II) and July 15-16 (phase III), a decrease of 3% in
comparison with 2008.
This year, the number of
students registering for universities is 1,565,286 (73,5%)
and for colleges is 560,689 (26.5%).
The majority of students have
applied to take university entrance exams in group A with
three subjects of mathematics, physics and chemistry (52% of
the total applications) compared to group B with
mathematics, chemistry and biology (20%), group D with
literature, mathematics and foreign language (15%), group C
with literature, history and geography (8%) and others (5%).
Universities of medicine, pharmaceutics
and economics received the most applications. The Faculty of
Medicine and Pharmaceutics under
of the University of Da Nang, the Thai Nguyen University of
Medicine and Pharmaceutics are among universities with high
competition ratio of 1/33,4 and 1/21 respectively.
On July 4, the entrance
examinations will start with groups A and V. The second
stage of the entrance exams will be held on July 9-10 with
B, C, D and aptitude groups. The college entrance exams will
take place on July 15-16 with group A, B, C and D.
Today, the examinees applying
for group A and V will complete their final procedures at
the exam venues. |
