Nhan Dan Online/VNA - As many as twelve Vietnamese professional cycling teams and three international teams from the Netherlands, Mongolia and the Philippines are to compete in the BTV-Cup Number One.

The tournament jointly held by the Binh Duong Radio and Television (BTV) and the Binh Duong Municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will take place from March 9-18.

The race will start from the central province of Quang Tri, then go through Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Nha Trang... and will finish at the Binh Duong Radio and Television station.

The 10-stage tour will cover a distance of more than 1,100km.

The Vietnamese teams include Domesco Dong Thap, Sai Gon Plant Protection Joint Stock Company, Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang Plant Protection Company.

Among the strongest cyclists are Truong Quoc Thang, Trinh Phat Dat, Nguyen Nam Cuc and Mai Cong Hieu.

The tour will carry a total cash prize of more than VND 220 million (US$ 12,000)
