Dan Online - Khatoco Khanh Hoa, who caused a shock in Pleiku last Sunday,
beating twice champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai 3-0, prove to be a
dark horse of the 2007 national football
championship/V-League, moving to top spot of the table.
In the earliest match of week six, Khatoco Khanh Hoa beat
visiting Hoa Phat Hanoi 2-1 on April 5. Nguyen Ngoc Dieu
opened the scoring and Nouhoum sealed a 2-1 victory for the
hosts. Between the hosts’ goals, Willians Dos Santos pulled a
goal back for the visitors.
The victory earned Khatoco Khanh Hoa top spot in the table
with 11 points, one point clear of Da Nang and Binh Duong.
Both sides made changes in their started squad. Khatoco Khanh
Hoa were missing midfielder Le Tan Tai due to an injury.
Skipper Da Silva of Hoa Phat Hanoi was sidelined for the same
reason. The absence of Da Silva paved the way for goalie
Theophilus to make his first appearance.
The hosts started the game very well, creating dangerous
attacks from the left flank with young midfielder Ngoc Dieu
and leftback Tan Dien.
It took the hosts 12 minutes to open the scoring. Nouhoum, who
scored a brace in the match against Hoang Anh Gia Lai, slotted
the ball past on-rushing Theophilus to set up Ngoc Dieu, who
found the net from close range.
The hosts maintained their lead for just 21 minutes.
Centreback Issifu’s back header to goalkeeper Duc Hung fell to
the feet of Santos, who made no mistakes in equalising with a
shot to the far corner.
After the break, Khatoco Khanh continued to dominate the game
and Nouhoum restored a one goal lead five minutes into the
second half. Jonathan and Thien Hao produced a good
combination and made a through ball to Nouhoum, who ran past
two defenders of Hoa Phat Hanoi before finding the back of the
net.
Dos Santos came close to equalising on 71 minutes when he shot
against the post.
Manager Vuong Tien Dung made changes, bringing on Xuan Thanh,
Anh Cuong and Sy Cuong, but Hoa Phat Hanoi failed to improve
their performance.
Losing the match, Hoa Phat Hanoi have experienced five games
without a win since their 1-0 victory over ACB.HN in their
opening match. They earned three points out of a possible 15
and drop to tenth place in the table.
