Nhan Dan - The Army team occupied the first position after having won three out of four titles in the category for professional players at the 2010 National Strong Teams Table Tennis Open which concluded at the Hoang Mai Gymnasium in Hanoi from on March 6.

In the men's singles, Dinh Quang Linh (the Army team) defeated Hanoi's Phan Huy Hoang 4-2 in the final to snatch the gold. The bronzes in this event also went to two athletes from the Army team: Nguyen Thanh Luan and Duong Van Nam.

In the women's singles, Luong Thi Tam (Army) beat Viet Linh (The Central University of Sports and Physical Training I) 4-3 to win the championship.

Apart from the professional category, amateur players also had a chance to show their skills at the tournament through various events.

The tournament, jointly held by Vietnam Table Tennis Federation in co-ordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism drew the participation of 20 excellent professional athletes and around 600 amateur players nationwide
